New Reception Area Guest Chairs
Reception area chairs are often chosen as something of an afterthought. This is a pity because they are going to be one of the first things a prospect or potential employee sees.
They need to be chosen carefully to portray the image of the company. You wouldn’t want a shabby chic sofa in a lawyer’s office, for example. That same sofa, however, would work well in an artist’s studio.
When choosing your reception area chairs, put some thought into the impression that you want to create. A luxurious, well-stuffed leather sofa, for example, screams success and is a good match for a high-powered attorney.
At a doctor’s office, you need something a little more comforting, something less clinical. A funky graphic design firm would want something with a bit more personality—something like our Safco Sy™ Guest Chair.
You get the idea – the furniture must convey the right message.
Then, of course, there’s the other aspect – the furniture must also be comfortable. We’re not saying that it should be so comfortable that the person wants to curl up and fall asleep on it, but it does need to be comfy.
This aspect is especially important if waiting times might be a little longer than usual. Would you enjoy sitting on a cold, plastic chair waiting for the doctor for over an hour? Don’t do that to your clients then.
The next question is, do you use sofas, chairs, or a combination of the two? That’s going to depend on your business. Chairs are nice in that they give each visitor their own private space. You can also quickly move them if necessary.
That said, there’s no denying that a sofa can create an elegant accent in the room. You might have couples visiting, and they’d be more than happy to use the couch.
Our advice – consider the space you have first. If possible, a sofa can be made the statement piece, with chairs on the side to accommodate more guests.
