When you think of office furniture, what do you think of? If you’re like most people, you’d answer desks and chairs. One or two might have added in a conference table or reception desk. These are your typical office furnishings, but there is a lot more to consider.

Like office occasional tables, for example. This is quite a broad category. It incorporates:

  • Coffee tables
  • Side tables
  • End tables
  • Any accent tables that you might need

These are units that, strictly speaking, the business might be able to do without.  A leather sofa in the reception area might be all you need to keep clients comfortable.

But even the most high-quality furnishings need accent pieces to make them complete.

Perhaps in your case, that means something to place a beautiful piece of art on, or a more practical lamp to improve lighting. Maybe just a plant or vase of flowers to add that extra touch. Accent pieces are what take a room from so-so to wow.

They can also serve a practical purpose, though. Think of your doctor’s waiting room without a coffee table or any side tables with magazines on them. It would still be functional, but a lot more boring.

What about adding your company’s prospectus to the table in the client lounge? What about having a coffee table for them to put their coffee cups on while waiting for you?

The good thing about these pieces is that they can be accumulated over time. You have a certain amount of leeway here with this kind of accent pieces. You also don’t have to spend a fortune on them.
